Mount Dennis Station – Building Precision into Toronto’s New Mobility Hub

Mount Dennis Station -Toronto’s new inter-modal transit hub at Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West marks an important step in regional transit connectivity. Opened in November 2025, the station brings together GO Transit’s Kitchener Line, UP Express, and the TTC bus network, including a 15-bay bus terminal and connections to the future Line 5 Eglinton. The hub is designed to make transfers faster and smoother, helping commuters move between services with less hassle. Beverly Caulking contributed to the project by handling critical sealing and firestop work throughout the station and rail corridor, ensuring these areas were secure, durable, and able to perform reliably for years to come.

Scope

  • Sealed penetrations and elevator penetrations with packed mineral wool and fire-stopped electrical penetrations
  • Installed packed backer rod and caulked aluminum-frame to concrete joints
  • Caulked door frames and windows throughout station structures
  • Caulked all rail-terminal window surrounds
  • Sealed concrete sidewalk joints around station entrances and walkways

Supporting the Project as it Evolved

Large transit builds come with evolving needs, and our team provided extensive time-and-material support as construction advanced. This included:

  • Firestopping elevator shafts
  • Caulking at escalator assemblies
  • Mechanical and electrical penetration firestopping
  • Additional packed mineral wool installations
  • Aluminum frame-to-concrete caulking beyond original scope
  • Window, door frame, and rail-terminal perimeter sealing
  • Supplemental concrete sidewalk joint sealing

Our adaptability ensured that emerging requirements were addressed efficiently and to specification, supporting the project timeline while maintaining consistency across all completed work.

Our Expertise in Firestopping and High- Performance Sealants

Firestopping and precision caulking are not simply finishing tasks – they are essential building-safety and performance systems. Beverly Caulking has specialized in these procedures for decades, delivering solutions that help compartmentalize heat and smoke, protect structural elements, and safeguard equipment rooms and service corridors.

The benefit of high-quality firestop systems is straightforward: they help ensure that facilities remain safe, maintainable, and resilient. Our team approaches this work with long-proven methods, attention to detail, and reliable materials designed for the demands of large public infrastructure.

Technical Execution in a Challenging, Live-Transit Environment

At Mount Dennis, much of our firestopping took place in tight back-of-house areas, where access was limited and detailed coordination was required.

From a caulking perspective, many tasks were completed while trains were running – meaning safety protocols were detailed, planned, and followed without exception. Other portions of the work occurred during weekend shutdowns for testing, requiring full Metrolinx track training due to the high-speed movements of oncoming trains.

Working in these conditions demanded precision, planning, and a disciplined workflow – areas where our team excels.

Trusted in Transit Infrastructure

Transit facilities face intense wear and tear. High-foot-traffic areas, vibration from train systems, temperature shifts, and constant movement place exceptional demands on sealant systems.

By installing high-quality caulking and firestop solutions at Mount Dennis, we helped contribute to the long-term sustainability and performance of the structures – improving durability, supporting energy efficiency, and protecting building systems for years to come. These are the types of environments where Beverly Caulking is consistently trusted: busy stations, rail corridors, bus terminals, and large mixed-use infrastructure with complex performance needs.

If your project requires reliable, consistent, and experienced commercial caulking or firestop services – especially in active, occupied, or transit-sector environments – Beverly Caulking brings decades of experience, a trained and certified team, and a proven track record on some of Ontario’s most complex transportation builds.
