The Dymon Storage Project: A Complex Firestopping Solution
At Beverly Caulking, we pride ourselves on taking on challenging and complex projects, and the new Dymon Storage facility in Burlington, Ontario, was no exception. This six-story, state-of-the-art storage facility is designed with advanced climate control systems, drive-in bays, and top-tier security features. Our role in this impressive project was to provide specialized firestopping at the slab edge to the insulated metal panel (IMP) walls, which required site specific engineering judgements to ensure optimal fire and smoke containment. Given the complexity of this project, we collaborated closely with CHM Fire Consultants, an engineering company to develop and implement a solution that worked, ensuring the facility’s safety and compliance with fire protection standards. Additionally, we firestopped slab joints at the elevator and stairwell slabs using tested UCL/cUL systems to conform to the building code requirements.
Beverly Caulking provided services including:

- Firestopped at the slab edge to the IMP wall.

- Collaborated with engineers to find effective solutions.
