Project Details ~ Unexpected Bats & the Peterborough Theatre Guild
After 60 years in the caulking business, we’ve seen thousands of interesting challenges requiring our problem solving and caulking expertise. We enjoyed the challenge of The Peterborough Theatre Guild, a vibrant cultural and entertainment theatre in beautiful Peterborough. Recently, it faced an unexpected issue with bats entering the structure. Our expertise was called upon to provide a practical solution while preserving the building’s historical integrity.
Scope
- Install sealant to the underside of all soffits as required to seal them to the brick exterior.
- Install expanding foam installation with the opening of the soffit at the rear.
- Repair the freeze board on the front face of the facility at the bottom left corner, where the bats are suspected of entering.
- Install a back door at that location to allow the bats to exit without re-entering
- Install flashing to the freeze board at the front of the building vertically to prevent further issues.
- Once bats have exited the building, revisit and remove bat door and seal up the hole
