Showcasing Our Work at the University of Toronto Instructional Building 2, A Unique 5-Storey Educational Building.

Beverly Caulking played a role in the completion of the Sam Ibrahim Building, formerly known as Instructional Centre 2, at the University of Toronto. A five-storey mixed-use educational building constructed to serve as a dynamic student hub, with 23 lecture halls, 124 faculty and staff offices, and a variety of spaces including welcome areas, cafés, lounges, and informal collaboration spaces. This building was designed to foster both academic learning and community engagement. Beverly Caulking’s contribution to the project involved varied and critical caulking tasks we performed throughout the project, ensuring both functionality and durability across key building components – ensuring optimal performance and durability throughout this impressive structure.

Scope:

• Caulking the perimeter of hollow door frames
• Caulking interior hollow metal window frames
• Sealing around screens
• Sealing plumbing items (pipes, fixtures, etc.)
• Caulking counters and vanities
• Sealing top of non-rated masonry
• Sealing top of rated masonry
• Sealing interior masonry control joints
• Caulking block-to-drywall ceiling transitions
• Sealing precast stairs (top to bottom)
• Applying caulking to shoe base areas
